WBB Establishes Vertical Lift Consultancy

April 7, 2008
Whitney, Bradley & Brown, Inc.

WBB has expanded its strategic consultancy services to include an expertise base in US and International Vertical Lift.

Led by Mark Gibson and Frank Boynton, WBB now offers insights into the Department of Defense (DoD) Joint Capabilities Integration and Development System (JCIDS), Acquisition and Performance Based Logistics (PBL). WBB Consultants provide both operational and industry expertise specifically focused on the Vertical Lift sector of US Defense and Homeland Security.

WBB offers critical expertise to help our military, civilian, and industry customers:

  • Answer questions about Independent Research & Development (IR&D)
  • Recapitalize aging Vertical Lift airframes
  • Conceive and develop new technologies to address emerging and evolving threats
  • Implement new Joint Operational Concepts with Vertical Lift solutions

WBB recognizes that current recapitalization practices (primarily COTS/GOTS solutions and remanufacturing) do not enable future three-dimensional Joint Operational Concepts of maneuver and sustainment for the noncontiguous fight. At the same time, the Armed Forces' operational environment is shifting toward ground and Vertical Lift-centric operations (OIF, OEF, HOA, Balkans, and Homeland Defense).

DoD Vertical Lift aircraft capabilities are not optimized for the asymmetric battlefield of "Long War," having been envisioned, designed, and developed for employment against a contiguous, linear threat. WBB has a strategic and vested interest in helping our customers solve these intricate and critical issues.
