WBB announces the result of their work with the Virginia Office of Commonwealth Preparedness in developing the state’s Critical Infrastructure Protection and Resiliency Strategic Plan (The VA Plan), which was signed and implemented by Governor Tim Kaine in June 2008.
In an effort to secure the nation’s critical infrastructure, the Department of Homeland Security charged each state with developing a list of its critical infrastructure and key resources as well as a strategy for their protection and resiliency.
WBB designed The VA Plan to align with and support the National Infrastructure Protection Plan by establishing a coordinated approach to national priorities, goals, and requirements for critical infrastructure and key resources protection. This process will enable Virginia to enhance interoperability between federal and state agencies and plans, while satisfying national preparedness requirements.
WBB also developed a guide to assist the respective state agencies responsible for the development of the Sector Specific Plans which support The VA Plan. This guide will assist those agencies constrained by resources or with nominal planning experience in their efforts to develop, test, and update their plans.
