Welcome to WBB Consulting : Solutions and Support for a Changing World

Space Consulting

The WBB Management Consulting sector now provides technical services and management support for aeronautical and aerospace activities. Led by Jim Nehman, former Deputy Associate Administrator for Development Programs of NASA’s Exploration Systems Mission Directorate, WBB helps clients set strategies and goals to effectively compete in the $220 billion global space sector.

WBB’s space consultants have an intimate knowledge of the people, programs, and policies of civil, national security, and commercial space sectors. In addition to WBB’s Core Competencies, the Space Systems Consultancy provides expertise in Strategic Communications, Policy Analysis, and Space Education Programs.

In particular, our WBB consultants supported NASA's Mission Directorates, including Exploration Systems and Science and Space Operations in the initial implementation of the Nation's Vision for Space Exploration. Our technical services began in the concept development phase of the Vision and led to the development of a Concept of Operations (CONOPS) document for the new Crew Exploration Vehicle (CEV).

We have assisted NASA’s Chief Information Office by developing a process to identify and prioritize IT infrastructure requirements managed independently by 10 Field Centers, as well as a process and structure to achieve formal approval for the IT Infrastructure and Integration Program from the Senior Management Council.

When the State of Florida merged three aerospace-related agencies into a single organization, WBB worked with Space Florida to develop a new management structure and established a process to develop a roadmap that aligned strategies, goals, investments, programs, budgets, and performance metrics. We also facilitated a decision management exercise designed to identify program and budget priorities, and conducted a market assessment for a proposed commercial space launch facility.

In meeting our clients' challenges, WBB provides experienced consultants in the areas of program management, requirements development and prioritization, acquisition management, project roadmaps, and advanced technology assessments.

Our training course, How NASA Works, provides insight to the agency’s programs, plans, and acquisitions opportunities, and includes a look at how "NewSpace" companies are revolutionizing how space research and development is accomplished.

In general, our technical approach to space consultancy involves facilitated off-sites with ThinkTank and Team Expert Choice™, each of which were utilized in support of NASA. WBB consultants also have noteworthy experience in commercial space support, space technology and space R&D.
