- Appointed in 2004 as NASA's Deputy Associate Administrator for Development Programs in the newly formed Exploration Systems Mission Directorate
- Responsible for technology and space transportation systems in support of the nation's vision of human and robotic space exploration
- Served the Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) for 30 years, including nearly five years as a member of the Senior Executive Service
- Managed major aircraft system development, acquisition, operations and support as Deputy Program Executive Officer for Navy Tactical Aircraft Programs including the F/A-18, F-14, EA-6B and E-2C aircraft and air-to-air weapons

- Executive Secretary of the Interagency Working Group and Chair of the Civil Space Subcommittee that developed the National Space Policy signed by President Clinton in 1996

- Appointed Manager of Washington Operations, Space Systems Business Development for Northrop Grumman
