WBB Consultants Achieve ASQ Black Belt Certifications
March 17, 2009
Whitney, Bradley & Brown, Inc.
Whitney, Bradley & Brown, Inc. proudly announces that consultants Jim Carr, Roy Dunn, and Paul Pierce recently passed the American Society for Quality (ASQ) Six Sigma Black Belt Exam, earning the title of "Certified Six Sigma Black Belts."
In April of 2008, WBB Master Black Belts developed an internal Lean Six Sigma (LSS) Black Belt (BB) Training Program. The intent was to increase the number of certified Six Sigma Black Belts within the company. This certification enables these WBB Black Belts to provide LSS support to our customers, as well as providing additional expert support for WBB Internal Continuous Process Improvement (CPI).
Carr, Dunn, and Pierce attended five weeks of BB Training from April through September 2008. During training, and in the months following, they identified and completed two internal LSS Projects.
Carr also provided mentoring support to WBB’s Naval Facilities Engineering (NAVFAC) customers at the Norfolk Naval Base, helping a newly trained Green Belt complete his project and earn his Green Belt Certification.
Pierce worked with Commander Navy Installation Command (CNIC) customers to facilitate a Rapid Improvement Event (RIE) on execution of Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC) funds.
Dunn is currently planning to provide iGrafx value stream mapping support to our NAVFAC customer during several Value Stream Analysis (VSA) events this spring.
WBB wishes many thanks and much success to these three newly ASQ Certified BB’s for their hard work and future LSS efforts in supporting our customers' CPI initiatives.
