JCIDS Process — Defining Acquisition Requirements and Evaluation Criteria for Future Defense Programs
JCIDS Consultants Providing a Capabilities-Based Approach to Requirements Generation
Joint Capabilities Integration & Development System (JCIDS) Training. WBB offers hard-hitting, comprehensive training in a 4-hour or one day package for government and industry clients who work directly with the DoD requirements/capabilities and acquisition communities. This JCIDS Training course focuses on the JCIDS process and the most current changes to the CJCSI 3170 and DoD 5000 series instructions, but can be tailored to meet your specific needs.
DoD has changed the rules by which it develops and fields the capabilities needed by our military forces. The new process promulgated in the revisions of the DoD 5000 series and Joint Staff Instruction 3170.01 series, commonly referred to as JCIDS, is complex. Sooner or later, every program in DoD will be required to comply with these new initiatives. Our JCIDS training focuses not only on the theoretical underpinnings of the JCIDS system, but also on how JCIDS works in practice. Our instructors have current, relevant experience in JCIDS and have already helped several major acquisition programs successfully engage this new process. Early mastery of JCIDS will be a determining factor in the success of current and future acquisition programs.
The JCIDS Training course is composed of the following modules, each of which is tailored to meet the client's needs:
- JCIDS Operating Environment
- Successfully Operating in the JCIDS Environment
- Basic JCIDS concepts, procedures, and terminology
- Associating Requirements to Planning, Programming, Budgeting & Execution (PPBE) and Acquisition Management
- Describe Relationships with Other Organizations
- Furnishing a Reference Aid
