[Overarching] Concept of Operations (CONOPS)

A CONOPS is the all-important foundation for the development or refinement of operational requirements. Concept of Operations, depending on the client's need, may be highly detailed, or "top level". Regardless, a CONOPS projects the value and operational employment of new technologies into the future environment, emphasizing the application of emerging military doctrine and integration with emergent and legacy systems. Depending on the operational level, these CONOPS may correspond to the military's Joint Operations Concepts (JOpsC), Joint Operating Concepts (JOCs), Joint Integrating Concepts (JICs) or Functional Concepts .
