Air Force Security Forces Transformation
Customer: US Air Force
Challenge: Security Forces today are based on a Cold War model that is not aligned with the Global War on Terror expeditionary requirements. This results in extended work hours across the career field and deployments at an above-the-average rate to meet the expeditionary requirements. The USAF required a Security Forces mission review and assistance in developing a Strategic Plan, CONOPS, Joint Capabilities documents and a Program Action Directive (PAD) to move the Air Force Security Forces Transformation effort forward.
Approach: WBB provided the Air Force value by:
- Reviewing the Security Forces Strategic Plan to ensure the plan meets the intent of the United States Air Force Director, Security Forces and Force Protection strategic vision.
- Developing a Security Forces Concept of Operations and future vision for the Security Forces career field in the 2015 timeframe.
- Identifying the operational tasks, conditions and standards needed to achieve the desired Security Forces capabilities in the 2015 timeframe.
- Prepared a comprehensive communications plan and supporting communications materials for SF Transformation.
- Prepared a SF Roadmap and Program Action Directive (PAD) to execute Security Forces Transformation.
Value: The customer was provided with a quick turn analysis, by an independent and impartial outside organization, with intimate first hand knowledge of USAF requirements. Prior to delivery, the product was vetted with the staff and senior leadership, validating the result and garnering by in and acceptance.
